Who pays for Home Care Services?

Home care services can be paid directly by the consumer and/or family members.

Services can also be paid by consumers choosing the Consumer Directed Community Supports option (CDCS) on the Elderly Waiver (EW), the Alternative Care (AC) waiver, Community Alternatives for Disabled Individuals (CADI) waiver, and several other waiver programs.

Some health insurance policies, medigap insurance, and long-term care insurance have benefits for long-term services, but policies vary greatly from plan to plan. Individual consumers are urged to investigate the options for their policy.
